INSPIRED BY THE ESSENCE OF WATER

The design aims to create a visually graceful blade that embodies the fluidity of water while maintaining practicality as a cutting tool.

Fascinated by water's ability to be both a gentle, flowing entity and a formidable force capable of cutting through the hardest substances, my design seeks to embody such essence. Reflecting water's elusive elegance through flowy lines, and capturing its graceful movement.

Rapid ideation sketches allow me to have fun and explore a multitude of possibilities, experimenting with different curves, forms, and accenting elements that will compliment the blade.

To transform the 2D design into a 3D model, I placed the knife drawing on the foam core and used the machine to cut along the outlines. With careful sanding, I shaped the foam core to match the intended form. This process allowed me to further evaluate its dimensions, proportions, and how it felt in hand.

Carry out multiple rounds of 3D printing iterations to fine-tune the design, thereby ensuring that the physical appearance and tactile feel are optimized. This iterative refinement is key before advancing to the subsequent phase of the development process.
